Medical Students for Choice stands up in the face of opposition, working to destigmatize abortion provision among medical students and to persuade medical schools to include abortion as a part of the reproductive health services curriculum.

MSFC activities include not only the important issues of abortion and contraception, but also women's health care issues in general. In particular, our activities are geared toward the education of medical students regarding the delivery of complete health care for women.

This past year, MSFC sponsored a series of lunchtime events, including a panel of speakers from both sides of the abortion issue, a presentation by a Planned Parenthood counselor, and a talk by representatives of the Religious Coalition for Choice. We are currently planning a lunchtime lecture series for this fall, the regional MSFC conference in October, as well as a mentor/shadowing program and a proposal for curriculum reform. We currently have a membership of men and women from all three classes, and we are part of the national organization MSFC (Medical Students for Choice).

We are always welcoming of new voices and look forward to meeting new medical students who are dedicated to a broad concept of choice and to learning how to provide quality women's health care. Throughout the year, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, help plan events, and take leadership roles at whatever level you choose.
